Lee Roy Selmon's past combines the virtues of family football scholarships and volunteering for the community. First family, he's the youngest of the nine children Lucious and Jessie Selmon. The family lived on a family farm near Eufala, Oklahoma. Also, he was one of three brothers who played for Oklahoma on the field of football. They were all All-Americans. For 1973 Lee Roy and Lucious Jr. Dewey were the first-teamers for a single season. Lee Roy was named the top offensive lineman in United States by Outland as well as Lombardi. Outland Awards. Oklahoma had two National Championships throughout the span of three seasons as the starter. Selmon was given a second scholarship in 1975. He was also named as an National Football Foundation Student-Athlete. Selmon was awarded a degree from education. Lee Roy dedicated ten volunteer hours per week during college. He returned to Tampa following his college years, playing as a member of the Buccaneers for nine seasons and was three-times all-pro. His business career began. In 1988 he took on the role of account manager for Tampa's First Florida Bank. He was also involved with these organizations: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. In 1982 The Junior Chamber of Commerce recognized him as one of 10 of America's top young men. As a student, Lee Roy was 6-2 and weighed about 256 lbs. He was a captain on his college team in 1975. He was promoted to an associate director of Athletics at the University of South Florida, in 1993. In 1988 his induction into the College Football Hall of Fame. The same year, he also was inducted into the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The Selmons' parents Lucious and Mary Selmon. received the Distinguished American Award in 1989 from the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation.
